Maia is from the Summer 2013 "Star" litter between Orion and Stella. She was pointed out as a puppy and was then only shown sparingly over the years as she matured. She finished her championship at a little over 5 years old picking up back-to-back majors! Maia is a very sweet and goofy girl who has a really funny--and very surprising--deep baratone bark! She has never met a stranger, either people or dogs, and is always happy. She tried lure coursing for the first time at 6.5 years old and really liked it, receiving her qualifying certificate to compete, and competed in her first trial in the veteran stake at 7 years and 22 days old where she won 1st place for a major! Just a few weeks later, Maia finished her dual chapionship with 4 majors! After several failed attempts at breeding, I had all but given up when my reproductive vet suggested we try one more time, and Maia whelped her first and only litter of two beautiful puppies at about 7.5 years of age. She was a fabulous mother and passed on so many of her wonderful traits to her puppies, both of which remained here, and shortly later retired to live with my friend Katie and her other Abbaio Ibizan, Marrow, who needed a companion! Maia occasionally gets to lure course but spends most of her time cuddling with her Lykoi cat.
