The Zit is from the Summer 2018 "Lemur" litter between Scorpio and Elin. She is co-owned with Shawn Fuller who has several other Abbaio Ibizans, Leslie Hotchkiss of Elle Great Danes, and Vickie Tippens of Georgia who has 2 other Abbaio Ibizans. She won her first major her first weekend out at 7 months old and also won a Puppy Group 1st! She finished her championship at 11 months old with 4 majors! In her first appearance as a move-up special, she was Select for a major toward her grand championship. In her 4th field trial she earned a Best in Field, becoming the 5th homebred Best in Field winner at Abbaio! She earned her dual championship with a second Best of Breed and Best in Field at 16 months of age! At 18 months old, The Zit became our 20th homebred grand champion! At 2.5 years old, The Zit won her first Hound Group 1st becoming the 5th Abbaio home bred group winner! She then became our 5th homebred bronze grand champion! At the 2021 IHCUS National Specialty, she was awarded Judges Choice Winner at the 2020 Top 20 event and an Award of Merit at the National the next day! She has been shown sparingly but is a consistent winner and in December 2022, she was selected Best of Breed at the AKC Royal Canin National Championship! After whelping her first litter of puppies in October of 2023, she has returned to the ring and won Best of Breed at AKC Royal Canin National Championship for the second year in a row! At 5.5 years of age, The Zit earned her grand champion gold title, making her the first dual champion Ibizan to reach this level and the 4th Abbaio Ibizan Hound to earn the gold level! A few weeks later, she won Best in Show at the Peach Blossom Cluster in Perry, GA making her the very first dual champion Ibizan Hound to have an all-breed Best in Show! She took a full month off from showing after that weekend and came back out in New York to win Best of Breed at the 148th Westminster Kennel Club where she was then shortlisted in the final 7 dogs in the Hound group! She has shown very sparingly over the summer of 2024, but won her second all-breed Best in Show at the beginning of August! In September of 2024, The Zit won Best of Breed at the IHCUS National and Regional Specialty Shows, as well as her 3rd and 4th Best in Shows making her the top winning breeder-owner-handed Ibizan Hound in AKC history. She ended the month winning her 5th and 6th Best in Shows!
