Tiny Miracle is from the Fall 2016 "Mighty" litter between Conan and Phoebe. He lives with here at Abbaio and is quite possibly the most-beloved creature who has ever lived. Tiny and his littermates were born prematurely, and when his siblings began to grow, he stayed very small. As he got older, it was clear he had perfect health and was simply a "late bloomer" who took a little longer to grow. He remained about 1/3 the size of his siblings until catching up in size at around 5 months of age. Tiny Miracle quickly ammassed a fan club and made friends everywhere he went. Even with an injury from puppyhood, he moved completely soundly without any signs of discomfort, and even earned his senior courser title. At 16 months old, our veterinarian performed a femoral head ostectomy, or FHO, and removed the head of his femur from his injured leg, effectively creating a "soft joint" without any bone to bone contact on that hip. His recovery was surprisingly fast, and I had to keep him on a leash to keep him from running just 3 days later! We took rehab slowly with controlled leash walks and slow walks on the treadmill with a light weight. When he was recovered, he began lure coursing again, and shortly before his third birthday he earned his field championship title, something I never could have imagined my tiny little puppy could hope to achieve! A month later, he earned his master courser title, completing all of the goals I lightheartedly hoped to meet with him on the field, and he continues to course to this day for fun since he loves it so much! He easily earned his canine good citizen title and his novice trick dog title, and I am hoping to try rally with him as soon as I learn how to do it (I am definitely his handicap!) Anything he tries and enjoys, we try to do as much as possible. As much as anything else, he loves to nap on his bed (he sometimes lets me sleep in it too) and also loves to go kayaking! He is my constant companion and I could not imagine my life without him. He is the most wonderful ambassador for the breed, his temperament is second to none and he is an incredibly healthy, robust and handsome boy. Tiny Miracle is amazing with puppies and is a great nanny, helping to raise all of the litters that have been born after him. He may never be a show champion, but his impact on my life is too great for words. He is truly my best friend, had I never met him I would have spent my whole life searching for him. I look forward to many more years of adventures with my goodest and most handsomest boy.
