Ibizan Hounds are consistently one of the fewest-registered breeds in the AKC due to a relatively small and responsible community of preservation breeders who do not produce many litters each year. Because of this, you should be prepared to do your homework, speak with reputable breeders and ask to be placed on a reservation list for a future litter. Do not be discouraged if there are not puppies available when you first contact a breeder as most have several reservations before they even breed a litter. Abbaio Ibizan Hounds produces an average of 1-2 litters per year out of health-tested and titled parents with sound temperaments.

NBISS GCHB DC Abbaio It Girl SC HOF "Kendra"
"Kendra" is CHIC Registered with OFA Excellent Hips and Normal Eyes/BAER/Thyroid/Heart.
Abbaio is committed to the health of our dogs and puppies. Breeding dogs are tested for hearing (BAER), vision (OFA CAER), hips (OFA or Penn Hip), thyroid (OFA) and cardiac (OFA). Most results are available to be viewed in the public database at ofa.org, though I do often submit hearing, vision and cardiac testing in batches so they may not be viewable right away. Many or all of these tests are often performed on dogs I have bred but do not plan to use in my breeding program in order to have more information about the entire family. BAER hearing testing is performed on my puppies before they go to their new homes, as well as at least 1 physical and cardiac exam by my veterinarian.
